downlineThe goal of every network marketer is to grow a downline.  In order to build an MLM downline, you need to develop the ability to attract individuals who are interested in purchasing the company’s products and also want to grow a business by building a downline.

As anyone who has joined a network marketing company will tell you, this is not an easy thing to do.  The work itself is not brain surgery but it requires persistence.

And, once you become a leader, you need to continue to display the same qualities that helped you build your downline.   In a training by top network marketer, Ray Higdon, I learned the following three qualities that will help you be a successful leader once you have built a downline.

  1. KINDNESS
A top leader is thoughtful of others even when they have built up a sizable residual income check.  Just because you have reached the top does not mean that you can make demands of others when you are called on to share your leadership secrets.

A great leader will remain a leader when they show kindness and thoughtfulness to others.  Always be nice to everyone, you never know who they know.  If someone is unkind to you, and you don’t really have to deal with them on a regular basis, then it’s best to just move on.

  2. OVERDELIVER
As a leader in your network marketing company, there is the chance that you will be called on to speak at company events.  When called on to speak, make sure that you over deliver with value at each event.Provide some much helpful information that the listeners are blown away by the value that they received from your talk. When dealing with your downline, always provide so much helpful information that people are motivated to do more and become the leader that you know they can be.
  3. ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS
As a leader, there are going to be many times where individuals seeking to join leadership will reach out to you for your advice.   Make sure that each time, you answer each question to the best of your ability.   Don’t ever discount a question.  Each question is important regardless if you think the person should already know the answer.

Remember, the person asking the question, may not be a member of a team.   They may just be on the call for information only.   They could make the decision to join your team based upon the helpful information that you provided on the call. So, always answer all questions, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
